Simple pleasures

Simple Pleasures by Johnny Ricketts

Simple pleasures captures a beautiful natural moment of childhood - two young children completely absorbed in the simple pleasures of enjoying slices of watermelon.

I brought the picture to light with the rich reds of the watermelon and background contrast with the softer tones of the children and their surroundings. Their expressions and relaxed poses give this piece a wonderful sense of innocence, character and every day life.

I painted this piece oil on canvas, this original artwork celebrates those uncomplicated moments that can become some of our most treasured memories.

Original art work: One of a kind

A characterful original painting that would bring warmth, colour and personality to a home or collection.
